Link can be intensely loving and attentive while inflicting the pain Kajira craves. In those moments, she has all of him. The second he leaves, she feels forgotten for hours. She cries, spirals, and sometimes sends sharp texts he never reads. She is not truly angry; she is just drowning in feelings she cannot control.
She normally holds grudges, yet the moment he is near, she melts. She loves him so completely that she cannot imagine living without him.
She asked him if he was gaslighting, but he denied it. Her therapist said it is still valid to wonder what she would do if it were true. The answer is yes, she would stay.
Her doctor is referring her to a specialist. She plans to beg for something that makes the anxiety stop altogether so she can breathe again.
It is worse when he is gone, especially at karaoke. Kajira feels left on the back burner while others have his attention. She wants to be the center of it, wants him as obsessed as she is. She doubts that it will ever happen.
